NLP Alert: Your Eye Patterns May Hold the Key to a Better Behavior New NLP Application – Part 1

NLP Alert: Your Eye Patterns May Hold the Key to a Better Behavior New NLP Application

This is a warning. This is advanced material. If you don’t understand it, you’ll need to study the NLP Practitioner material or call the office nearest you for clarification.

Yes, Your Eye-Patterns Can Change in Time and Affect Your Behaviors

First – for those of you who don’t know what the NLP Eye Patterns are, here is what this is all about. The founders of NLP noticed that people use their eyes in certain directions when they access certain kinds of thinking inside their heads. For example when we make pictures we move our eyes upward, when we hear sounds we move our eyes horizontally, and when we have feelings or talk to ourselves we move our eyes down.

That’s it in a nutshell.

And now to the point. One day as I was teaching the latest NLP Trainer’s Training, it dawned on me that the Eye-Patterns are actually telling us far more than we pay attention to. Much more! And we can utilize them in new and unexpected ways to learn more things about our behaviors.

Here is a recent discovery I made: Eye-Patterns can change over time and can also flip several times even during one day based on which the change in hemispheric dominance of the brain – this in turn could be determined by the intensity of different conflicts present in the two hemispheres of the brain.

Wait a minute,. Conflicts in the brain? Flip hemispheres? What is this? I thought we knew that once you are wired in a certain way, this is it!

But I’ll get to that in a moment.

Yes, I am aware of the fact that there are people who are doing their best to “de-bunk” the eye patterns as a myth. These are the same people who congruently affirm that there is nothing more to you than a bunch of chemicals and electric impulses and that every bit of creativity you possess – in fact every bit of behavior you produce – is not only replicable but can be improved by software programs and cybernetic systems. In other words, everything you are can and is faithfully catalogued and put in a box. So is their thinking about the Eye-Patterns.

These are the people who exhibit a strong Values Level 4 thinking (for a great description of the different Values Levels thinking see Time Line Therapy® and the Basis of Personality by Tad James here.)

In Part 2 of this article we will explore further the importance Of NLP Eye Patterns and how they can change,.  However one of the main obstacles we encounter is (if you allow me a little satire) the “Don’t bother me – I know how it is. I’m sleeping here and I become grumpy if you’re waking me up!” attitude and mode of thinking, But for the rest of us with open minds, we have something to learn every day.

Until Part 2, be well

[…] In Part 1 of this article I outlined the case that the NLP Eye-Patterns can shift according to the change or “flip” of the hemispherical dominance of the brain according to the intensity of the present activity of a shocking significant emotional event which was dramatic, for which we have no strategies, and cannot talk about. The “flip” in hemispheric brain dominance can happen as often as several times each day, or it can happen rarely or maybe never. […]
